Excellent recording!

Sound quality is unprecedented, but the aimlessness of it is what throws people off I think...very expressive of insomnia, rather artistic in a lot of ways. Definitely not something I expected to find on newgrounds.

Thank you very much for listening and taking the time to write a review! I really hope that you enjoyed it! I try to bring a sense of originality to the music world. Sometimes it's not always accepted well, but you never know until you try, right?

Angry?

Sounds like an angry hip hop beat. Kinda good...but your killing my ear drums with the overloaded bass-lead. Keep at it, maybe try listening to your music in your car alongside the radio to contrast and compare...*shrug*

fx0606 responds:

thank's for you advice :) (sorry i'am french)

Certainly diggable

This is a very cool song, from a strictly musicologic perspective. You use lots of different patterns for your gates which keeps them interesting and the chords and melodies get along very well. Even the overall progression is more complex and interesting than most of the stuff you hear (in general, not just on newgrounds). The thing that killed the song for me was the 8 bit sound holmes, and the VSTs you used. Maybe if you had something to smooth things out a bit and EQ on your master track it would help...but ultimately, the best thing I think you could do is use some high quality production VSTs, or maybe consider alternative recording options with sound generating instruments (synths, workstations, I've even mic'd a xylophone before to get a good sound). I think the song is impressively written, but I'm afraid it's not 10/5 material to me.

i gave you a one

For a couple reasons...the biggest being my own personal bias against 8 bit music...the second being, you didn't write the song. I'm not sure if you did it this way, but it's possible to take MIDI's that are already created, split them by track and re-master them using alternative instruments (i.e. your own 8bit VST) without ever having to do anything musically to them at all.

koek007 responds:

I created a MIDI which I used in the song. Not everybody is into 8 bith-ish shizzle I accept that. I will make new covers and I hope that you will like it. I will work on the new cover this week. Stay tuned for more songs made by me.

Very nice

This is a way cool use of the wobble dude. Totally not what I was expecting, but it never really breaks out or gets uber heavy...you create all this tension with your use of silence and keeping the bass kind of muted, but its like that ending would fade perfectly into a super badass, ultra heavy, super-sonic fast frkin murder-riff dude. Where's the murder-riff? If i'm only judging what you've given me, it's a frkin 10, but I want more! :-P

v150r responds:

thanks man, I think I was waited long enough for "forgot" the big picture - before i've finished it - and I feel I found some balance between the heaviest floor-smashing, wall-breaking and the clean, measured breaks and the other stuff.
also I know what you mean, and I will try it some way, but I just don't want to break the balance, and that's why I'm think it's finished. Time will tell dude. :P
And of course, thanks for the review! :)

edit 1: i've just seen you've checked the full version, so nevermind :) thanks bro!

smooth jazz funk?

That's different, you get a 9 for uniqueness among newgrounds metal and dance crews. But its too short...finish it :P

im not giving you a ten just because your f-777

I feel like you dumbed both of those songs down and simplified them to the point that they dont feel much like anything anymore, much less happy vs. sad, and in their original production they're very emotional songs. So...you kinda just killed them...nice. I tell ya dude, I wish I had as many people who liked a few of my songs ten years ago as you do...you could probably shit in a cup and sell it to these fools...

very nice!

I've been lookin into your stuff holmes, this is frkin nice. Totally dig it, want some more of it.

very tasteful

Feels the same as it did in the game, but more genuine, as it's performed by human beings instead of the n64 midi engine. Very appreciable, simple, and beautiful, well done.

very nice

wheres the lyrics holmes?

Jeepis responds:

They ain't there, brotato! xD
I'm a terrible lyricist and an even worse singer.
