cool!

This is a really good dance song. I guess some might call it trance, but I always think of psytrance stuff when I think trance, like Infected Mushroom and Sub6, Psysex, Beathackers, that sort of deal. This is more along the lines of Darude or LCD Soundsystem, maybe some old JunkieXL. I still dig it though, definately a cool song.

telefon tel aviv

Totally reminds me of this israeli band a friend of mine introduced me to called Telefon Tel Aviv. Very good stuff here. I completely dig it, all except for the super glitchiness that comes right at the end...that was a little overkill maybe on the glitch, but the rest of it is fuckin superb dude.

SineRider responds:

I love Telefon Tel Aviv :D

I suppose the ending was a bit much, but I never really finished this tune. Thanks for the review man :)

Fucking classic dude, and I love the bit at the end with the after battle tune, super awesome! Great job on maintaining the original feel, and still metalizing the fuck out of it, badass.

i disagree

You get better by experimenting and learning as much as you can about the way you're writing music. Get some tutorials, study some musicology, listen to the way other people do it and try to emulate what you like, these are methods to improving your skill. Reviews on newgrounds are mostly worthless. If you're using fl studio, try www.warbeats.com and for musicology I'd reccomend hitting up wikipedia and looking up chord progressions...for a start anyway.

yea i really didn't mean that just trying to make people review and not piss them off

??????

How the hell did you upload a 35 minute song...well, more like a recording of noise? The cap is 8mb, some of my songs are less than 4 minutes and more than 8mb...

Good stuff man.

The quality is not the greatest, but I love the feel. I'd reccomend some better VSTs or recording equipment, however you got those guitar sounds needs improvement, but this song is totally groovin dude. I dig it.

dude!

Most metalist song ever!! FUCK!N A! You need a singer though dude, seriously. Get some lyrics on this beast, omyfriggingod, holy crap. It will be the SHIIIT! Major props, rock out with your cock out dude.

Metaljonus responds:

Thanks!

hmm?

I totally dig it dude. Kinda hip hoppish, and folkish at the same time. Love that feelin. It's like a gangster, but he's got a cool chill side. I'd reccomend a better VST or the real thing for your acoustic guitar though. Even a bad recording of an acoustic guitar can be used for a high quality end product sound (layer it with VSTs). Where's the rest of the song anyhow? I'm interested in hearing it :)
5/5 10/10

Tilkanuts responds:

I don't have an acoustic guitar at the moment, or a high quality mic to record it with, but i do plan on getting both of those soon. I completely agree with you on that. The original song was pretty repetitive, and it wasn't really something i intended on making a full remix of, and since this melody/riff is pretty much played throughout the entire piece, i thought it would just suffice to make a loop of it.

Looks like they took down the original on imeem.com I was going to link the original to you, but i guess they dont' have it anymore :(

They aren't well known so it may take a little bit of time to find it, but i bet if you looked hard enough you could find it : / Sorry about that.
Anyways, Thanks for the review!

tick tock

Reminds me of a clock the way the snare switches left and right channels. Frkin cool idea man. Choirs are ok, but they could be better. They do sound alot like strings afterall, heh. I'm still anticipating a heavy bass somewhere, but its totally not like you to do that, heheh. No fault in it, that's just my preference man. I dig it overall, you get props.

SessileNomad responds:

yeah i hear quite a bit of songs with some instrument riding back and forth, so i decided to get on the bandwagon

i dont put basses in my ambient tracks ever really, i doesnt do well with the ambience

sweetness

I love how you mix your drums...the EQ particularly. Sounds great! Enclosed, loud, but not flat at all. Very vibrant for such a tight sound. Would've liked to see a mid-range layer added to the end of the build up around 2:35. Its very much just high end sounds with a cool drumset, not much bass, not much else at all. Well compensated for with the glitchy drum solo however.

...I noticed the drums got exceptionally louder as they got busier. Maybe try to control those a bit, and one or two more midrange layers throughout the whole song really. That's all I can suggest for improvement...superb work, keep it up. :)

SessileNomad responds:

yeah the drums do get a bit loud when the resonance in increased, but thats pretty much the only time the volume increases with them, as for the drums increasing as the track went, on, probly just a trick with your ears

yeah loking back on this i could have added somthin in the mid level reange, but whats done is done

also, i tried not to make anything too bassy, cuz to my it kinda takes away from the ambience

thanks for a very informative review

peace out
